Pastor James Choi serves as the youth pastor at Global Mission Church in Silver Spring, MD. He studied political science at the University of Florida and received his M.Div. at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is passionate about Jesus and His Kingdom's advance and desires to be spent for His glory. He loves the youth and will often strike holy fear into their hearts for them to hear the life-transforming, sin-vaccinating, world-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is a coffee-drinking, guitar-playing, loudly-singing, book-reading, rhyme-spitting, cowboy from Dallas, TX. Pastor James is blessed to be married to his beautiful wife Jeri who serves as the Children's Ministry Pastor at GMC.
Pastor Eli Choi is the middle school pastor at Global Mission Church. He is a Maryland boy, born and raised, from elementary school all the way to the University of Maryland in College Park. Even though he's lived in Maryland his whole life, he still loves Maryland today. But even more than Maryland, he loves finding God in people. He has a huge heart for the lost, broken, and hidden people who do not know the Gospel. And he loves to see the Gospel come to life in them. Graduating with a degree in psychology, he was hoping to pursue counseling. But God had better plans for him and he followed Jesus right into full-time ministry. He thinks he now has the best job in the world and he can't wait to do it for the rest of his life. In June of this year, he'll be marrying his beautiful fiance, Helen.
Pastor Jeri Choi is the children's minister at Global Mission Church, where she serves, loves, teaches, and spends time with the youngest members of our church. She went to University of Maryland-Baltimore County for her B.A in American Studies with concentration in Secondary Education and a minor Social Work/Welfare. Before her calling to ministry, Pastor Jeri served a year in the AmeriCorps by teaching low income Asian American children in the Washington DC/Silver Spring area. Pastor Jeri is currently studying at Dallas Baptist University for her Master of Arts in Christian Education. In her spare time, she likes to read, watch Korean Dramas, play tennis, and (learn to) cook for her husband, Pastor James Choi.
