Emmanuel Orchestra

Kucharski, DirectorEmmanuel Orchestra is offered for all orchestral and worship instruments from high school grades 9-12, with early acceptance in some cases for younger students demonstrating extraordinary skill and spiritual maturity. This ensemble performs advanced repertoire and spiritually challenges students through focused devotional time.

David M. Kucharski, Director

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, David Kucharski received his Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from Kent State University where he received the Hugh A.Glauser award for outstanding musician in the school of music. He then went on to complete his Master of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. After his Peabody studies, David was Associate Principal Trumpet with the Korean Symphony Orchestra, in Seoul, Korea. Since 2004, David has been a professional trumpet player with The United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. as well as leading worship for the International Service at Global Mission Church. Since 2010, David also assumed the role as director of the Global Mission Church Youth Orchestra program, where God has developed in him a true heart for the students and the mission of the organization.

Hosanna Orchestra

photo of Mark K. Mauldin, DirectorHosanna Orchestra was designed for all orchestral and worship instruments from junior high grades 6-8. This ensemble offers challenging repertoire in a creative and enthusiastic spiritual environment.

Mark K. Mauldin, Director

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mark K. Mauldin is currently finishing his PhD in Music Education from Kent State University and is Associate Professor at Howard University as Coordinator of Music Education. In addition to his fifteen years of public school and college teaching experience, Mr Mauldin is also well know across the United States as a versatile trombonist, low brass specialist, pianist, clinician, conductor, adjudicator and arranger.

Angel Strings

Angel Strings was created as an entry level ensemble for GMCYO, consisting of all stringed instruments grades 2-5. This program offers strong foundational instruction and more personalized attention in order to set our young musicians on the right path for as long as they play their instruments.

Originally from South Korea, Ms. Kim began her musical studies at Yaewon Arts Middle School and Seoul Arts High School before earning a Bachelor's of Music degree from Seoul National University. She then went on to complete a Master of Music degree from Freiburg National Music School and a Graduate Diploma from the Aachen Music School, both in Germany. While in Eurpoe, Ms. Kim received 2nd prize at the Freiburg Musik Hochschule Mendelssohn and the Rotterdam Orchestra Young Artists Audition. Ms. Kim was also a scholarship recipient of the Krakow Mozart Academy in Poland. As a guest soloist, Ms Kim has performed with the English Royal Academy Orchestra, Korean Broadcast Symphony (KBS), and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. Ms. Kim is also a highly accomplished teacher, with adjunct professor positions at Seoul National university and Saejong University in South Korea.

Global Mission Church Youth Chorus

The Global Mission Church Youth Chorus is our newest opportunity for students to get involved with a worship program that takes God's message outside of the church to touch real people's lives. Regardless of vocal background or experience, students of all ages with a heart for worship are invited to join us for in-depth training and powerful praise.

Born and raised in South Korea, soprano Shinae Choi graduated from Pusan High School of the Arts with a concentration in voice. Ms. Choi then went on to pursue her Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice Performance from the University of Maryland, College Park and earn her Master of Music Degree in Voice Performance from Temple University in Philadelphia. In addition to being a Semi-Finalist at the Orpheus Vocal Competition, Ms. Choi is very much in demand as a soprano soloist with leading ensembles in the Greater Washington area, including the Washington Soloist Ensemble. With a heart to serve, Ms. Choi has been a contemporary worship team leader, pianist and vocal coach at Global Mission Church since 2006. She also finds great reward in teaching Korean Language and music classes at Global Mission Church Korean School.
