New Policy as of Feb. 10, 2008
In order to participate in mission trip, you must complete two consecutive sessions. Your attendance in either Fall and Spring Sessions or Spring and Fall sessions is required. If you are joining the orchestra starting Spring session, you must register for coming Fall session also. If you do not come back for the Fall session, you will not receive the community service hours and there will be no refund for your Fall registration fee. Orchestra administrator.
Welcome! GMCYO is excited to begin its 24th season, and we are very thankful that you have joined GMCYO.
GMCYO’s Guidelines:
REHEARSAL TIME: 7:30-9:00. You must be in your seat by 7:20 A.M. with your instruments tuned. GMCYO will begin every rehearsal with a prayer and QT promptly at 7:45 A.M.
QT BOOKS- Every student gets one QT Book, My Utmost For His Highest. Every one should be doing daily QT.
BE READY to share your QT testimony at every rehearsal.
PRACTICE YOUR MUSIC – There is no time to teach you music during rehearsal. You must be prepared for each rehearsal.
IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED- Your orchestra’s room mother will telephone the parent. IF YOU ARE STILL NOT PREPARED- there will be a meeting with the student, parents and conductor. IF YOU ARE STILL NOT PREPARED- you may be dismissed from GMCYO.
BRING to each rehearsal- your instrument, music, pencil, tuner, and music stand.
ABSENCES & TARDINESS- 2 absences per semester will be permitted for illness, school trips, concerts and/or competitions, etc., but no more than 2 absences per semester are permitted. If you are going to be absent, please call your orchestra’s room mother in advance. If you have more than 2 absences, you will not receive CSL hours for the semester.
2 late arrivals will count as 1 absence. If you arrive late, you will not receive CSL hours for that day, if CSL hours are permitted for that day. Attendance will be taken at 8:00 A.M.

MISSION TRAINING (Spring semester)- MANDATORY ATTENDANCE
ATTITUDE/BEHAVIORS- If the student has attitude/behavior problems during rehearsal, your orchestra’s room mother will contact the parent to discuss the problem. IF ATTITUDE/BEHAVIOR DOES NOT IMPROVE, there will be a conference with the student, parent and conductor. IF ATTITUDE /BEHAVIOR STILL DOES NOT IMPROVE, you may be dismissed from GMCYO.
COMMUNICATIONS- Please call the room mother of your orchestra with any concerns, questions and especially if your child is going to be absent.

CHAIRS- Please help with putting away the chairs and setting up the rooms for Sunday Schools after every rehearsal.
